Specializing in routine yard maintenance, Derrick wanted to offer his customers more.  In 2016, Derrick acquired his Landscape Contractors License, LCB#9415, allowing him to do everything landscape-related, except for irrigation and back-flow. In 2017, Derrick acquired his Commercial Pesticide Applicator License for Turf and Ornamental!

What do you specialize in?  "Versatility, reliability, and honesty."  Derrick wants good, year-round, long-term customers that see the value in his versatility.  In addition, there are households that only need intermittent work, and Derrick tries to serve those customers to the best of his abilities, or should he say his avail-abilities.  Between the dump trailer, maintenance trailer, and secret weapons; Derrick can always figure out something valuable to do for you.

Outline your need and budget before your appointment.  This will help Derrick better help address your needs without going over-budget.  It also cuts expensive options out of the list of possibilities, so Derrick can focus on a game-plan within your anticipated spending capacity.  Speaking of price-tag, you remember hearing about the boy that would mow lawns for $20.  Please realize that there are more overhead costs involved in routine and one-time services that the $20 "mow boy" realizes... Destination, fuel, equipment, equipment maintenance, employee salary, repairs, office time, billing...  That's why Derrick tries to get as much info as possible prior to the on-site visit.  Some out-of-area jobs can be quoted using only a computer and a smart phone or camera. 

PREPAYMENT:  A prepayment is the settlement of a debt before its official due date. All jobs must be prepaid prior to scheduling.  This eliminates the business risk and guarantees Derrick will be on-site at the agreed-upon date or the soonest availability.  Don't say you never prepay because here are a few examples of when you do:  food/ coffee drive-through, insurance, cable, daycare... What this means for a small business like Smooth Green Yard Services is that Derrick doesn't need to worry about repeat billing and small claims.  He can focus on the task at hand and give it 110%!
